    Psychological aspects of Stroke

    Stroke occurs due to cerebrovascular accidents. In some cases recovery of stroke patient is faster because symptoms disappear according to brain lesion.

    PHYSICAL REHABILITATION
    Physiotherapy is important part of treatment to bring patient back into daily living of activities.
    and primary goal is to make them independent.
    But besides physical rehab, psychological aspects are also important to notice.

    PSYCHOLOGICAL REHABILITATION
    Therapist should also analyse psychological symptoms. With physical rehabilitation.
    psychoeducation and treatment should be given.

    LOOK AT SOME POINTS FOR BETTER REHABILITATION:
    1. Motivation : Motivation towards exercise and life.
    2. Positive Reinforcement : Reinforce "Yes u can do it" for achieving a goal.
    3. Psychoeducation : Educate patient about his problem and its consequences.
    4. Acceptance of problem : Make the stroke patient accepts that the things are changed but not ended.
    5. CBT : changing dysfunctional thinking to functional one.
    6. Family therapy : Family education and support is must for recovery of stroke patient.
